Spacecraft Art Focus as Graffiato Taupo 2018 Launches labour Weekend

It's here again! Get ready for some fantastic art this Labour Weekend in Taupo as street artists paint the town! 

2018 marks the 8th Graffiato: Taupo Street Art Festival. An annual event, run every labour weekend. This year 10 walls will be painted by 10 artists over the course of three days from 20-22 October. 

In support of the weekend Spacecraft will be open until 8pm on Friday 19th, showcasing a great range of art, including some fantastic NZ artists including Nic Tucker, Totaea, Glen Jones, Alise Bignell & more. Selected prints will be 30% off. Check it out! 

Graffiato is the first street art festival of its kind in New Zealand and captures the diversity of mural painting practice in New Zealand, what’s new and relevant in global urban culture.

Graffiato’s ever-expanding portfolio of over 80 murals brings transformation, wonder and vibrancy to the urban laneways and streets they inhabit. Even locals continue to find surprises hidden away down these charming back alleys.

Artists in Action Launch Event - Friday 19 October 

5.30 - 7.30pm - Suncourt Plaza, outside Cozy Corner café.

This year's festival kicks off on Friday 19 October with the Graffiato: Taupo Street Art Festival - Artists In Action night in Suncourt Plaza. Each artist will have 10 minutes to contribute their design and five artworks will be auctioned off on the night.

Call into Spacecraft on the night to cake out our featured art. We will be open until 8pm!
